Treatment options
Compare the different treatment options
Not every treatment works in the same way, and the costs vary depending on the product and the type of restoration. That is why you can see the key differences below at a glance. Ultimately, the decision as to which option is medically appropriate is always assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Ozempic
A weekly injection and currently the most popular treatment option at WeightConsult. What’s more, the price is lower than that of Mounjaro.
Wegovy
Wegovy is administered once a week. In terms of price, this treatment generally falls between Ozempic and Mounjaro. This makes it a suitable middle-of-the-road option for some patients.
Mounjaro
Mounjaro is also a weekly treatment. In a direct comparative trial, greater weight loss was observed on average than with semaglutide. At the same time, it is more expensive.
Saxenda
Saxenda differs from the other options in that it is taken daily. That is why ease of use and your personal preference also play a part in choosing a treatment plan.
The characteristics listed above are intended as a general guide. The most suitable treatment depends, amongst other things, on your medical condition, treatment history and personal goals. That is why a medical assessment is always carried out first.
Prices per treatment
Monthly prices per treatment option
Each treatment has its own structure and price level. That’s why you can easily switch between Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro and Saxenda below. This way, you can see straight away which monthly fees apply to each option.
Ozempic prices
Ozempic is administered weekly and the dosage is increased in stages. As a result, the monthly charge increases when a higher dose in the treatment plan is medically appropriate.
Good to know: Ozempic is currently the most commonly chosen treatment option at WeightConsult.

In short: In terms of price, Wegovy falls between Ozempic and Mounjaro and is administered once a week.
More about Wegovy →Mounjaro rates
Mounjaro has a higher monthly cost. At the same time, treatment is built up gradually. The appropriate next step is always determined as part of the individual medical assessment.
Price range: Mounjaro is the most expensive treatment option in this overview. For this reason, the choice should always be part of the individual treatment plan.
More about Mounjaro →Saxenda prices
Saxenda is administered daily. This means that this treatment differs in practice from the weekly options. Furthermore, the price changes when the regimen requires more pens per month.
Daily use: Saxenda is used differently from the weekly treatment options. As a result, the pricing structure is also different.
More about Saxenda →Prices are based on the current WeightConsult rates. The final treatment, dosage and duration will be assessed on an individual basis. As a result, your personal treatment plan may differ from the schedule shown.
What is included?
You pay for the entire course of treatment
The monthly fee is not just for the chosen treatment. That is why the programme consists of several components which, together, ensure a medically sound and personalised approach.
Furthermore, support remains an integral part of the follow-up process. This allows for the discussion of any questions, the monitoring of progress and, where necessary, a review of the treatment plan.
Medical assessment, consultation, support and follow-up go hand in hand. In short: you’re not just paying for a product, but for the comprehensive care provided throughout the process.
Medical assessment
A doctor assesses whether treatment is medically justified and appropriate.
Online consultation
During the consultation, you will discuss your medical history, any questions you may have and the treatment plan.
Personal support
Support remains an integral part of the programme, so that you don’t have to focus solely on your weight.
Monitoring and adjusting
Progress and any relevant changes may be reassessed during the course of treatment.
Postage and delivery
Once the doctor has given their approval, the next steps will be arranged through an authorised Dutch pharmacy.
Focus on conservation
As well as weight loss, we continue to focus on lifestyle, maintaining your results and what comes next as you approach your goal.

Why does the monthly price change?
The costs are based on the structure of your treatment
A course of treatment usually begins with a lower level. The treatment can then be gradually stepped up. As a result, the amount paid each month may vary. At the same time, each subsequent step is only taken when it is medically appropriate.
Initial phase
You’re starting with the first step of the treatment plan. That’s why the fee at this stage is often lower than later on in the process.
Gradual build-up
If the treatment is going well, the next step may be considered. Furthermore, this may mean that a different quantity or packaging is required, which will result in a change to the monthly fee.
Personal follow-up
Not everyone needs the same programme. That is why, ultimately, we take into account your progress, response and personal treatment plan.
Why isn’t there a single fixed price for the whole journey?
The costs depend on the chosen treatment and the stage you are at. Consequently, a single fixed monthly fee would not accurately reflect how a personalised treatment programme unfolds in practice. Furthermore, we want to make it clear in advance when and why a fee might change. In short: transparency before every next step.
Frequently asked questions about fees
Clarity before you pay
Prices may vary depending on the treatment and the next steps. That is why we have answered the most important questions about payment, reimbursement and how our prices are structured below.
Furthermore, treatment is only continued following a medical assessment. This means that not only the cost, but also medical suitability remains a factor in every subsequent step.
Take a look at the comprehensive FAQs or get in touch with WeightConsult if you have a practical question about your programme.
View all frequently asked questions →The process involves more than just the chosen treatment. A medical assessment, the online consultation and support are all part of the approach. Furthermore, once approved by the doctor, the medication is dispensed via a recognised Dutch pharmacy.
No. The monthly charge depends on the treatment and the stage in the titration schedule. As a result, the price may change when the next dose or pack is required. Which stage is appropriate is always assessed on a case-by-case basis.
If, based on the initial assessment, you are eligible, you complete the payment online and then book the e-consultation. The doctor will then discuss your medical history and the treatment plan. The medication will only be ordered once the doctor has assessed that the treatment is medically appropriate.
In the Netherlands, these treatments are used for weight loss generally not covered as standard. An exception may apply under specific medical conditions. You should therefore always check the terms and conditions of your own policy and contact your health insurer to find out whether reimbursement applies to you.
Your preferences and the costs can, of course, be discussed. However, the lowest price is not automatically the best choice. That is why a doctor assesses which treatment is medically appropriate based on factors such as your health, medical history and other medication.
The price depends on the treatment and the amount required for your next stage. If your treatment plan is not upgraded, this does not automatically mean that you will be charged at the rate for a higher stage. In short: the rate corresponds to the next stage you actually choose.
No. These treatments are available on prescription only. That is why a medical assessment is carried out first. If the doctor considers the treatment appropriate, the prescription is sent to the pharmacy and delivery is arranged through the pharmacy.

Check whether a treatment is right for you
You now know how the fees are structured and what treatment options are available. So the next step is simple: start with the BMI check and find out whether you might be able to proceed to the medical assessment.
A positive BMI check does not constitute medical approval.
